Lemon Volcano Science Experiment

Materials:

• 1 lemon

• 2 tbsp lemon juice

• Baking soda

• Food colouring (any colour)

• Popsicle stick

• Dish soap

• Tray (to catch the reaction, such as a pie plate or cookie

  sheet)

Procedure:

• Slice off the bottom of the lemon to make it sit flat. Then flip

  it over and cut out the core and place on the tray.

• Use the stick to muddle the lemon, causing it to become juicy.

• Add a few drops of food colouring and a squeeze of dish soap inside the lemon.

• Add a spoonful of baking soda to the lemon and stir with the stick and see what starts to happen.

• Keep the reaction going by adding more juice, soap and baking soda.
